Dublin City Webmaster Meet – Irish Webmaster Forum Members

Considering I started the thread on the Irish Webmaster Forums, I guess it’s only appropriate that I mention it here.

Although mind you my blog is only new to the world and there’s not a whole lot of traffic here, but who knows it might spark someone’s interest or at least let one person know about the event. If that’s all it achieves I guess it was worthwhile.

I’ll definately be attending unless I’m suddenly stuck down by a mysterious tropical disease. Cross my fingers and hope not.

If you decide to come, please feel free to come up to me and say hi. Not sure if I’ll have any business cards yet but it would be great to meet some locals in the industry.

Details of venue and time are listed below:

Date: Saturday February 9

Time: 7.30PM till whenever

Venue: Harbour Master, IFSC

Many developers choose to compensate by running advertising on their website. Fair enough really, but is there such a thing as too much advertising and how do you know if you have over stepped the boundary?

First Day and Overall Impressions in Dublin, Ireland

After the crazy adventures and extreme heat of Dubai, I was hoping to relax a little in Dublin. The good news was it was colder but not too cold according to the pilot as he told me we were flying over Wales. I’d like to stop in Wales at some stage, mainly because one of my favorite bands is from there (Lost Prophets). Dean managed to sleep over 4 seats because the plane was pretty empty and I slept over 3 so we didn’t get so jet lagged this time and the time adjustment was slightly less than Melbourne – Dubai was.

Dubai Day 1

Hey everyone, First impressions of Dubai were mixed to say the least. First of all we got to Dubai airport got stamped on the way out but no mention of a vistors visa like the travel agent said we would need. We doubled checked with a few people but apparently because we are Australian’s so there is no problem. So out of the airport and the heat hits you straight away. It’s 5am and it’s muggy and dusty, everyone wears white and we definately look like tourists. (more…)
